On 2nd September, Angela Rayner, the new Secretary of State for Housing, will answer questions from MPs in the House of Commons for the first time, alongside other ministers in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

Our statement on Minister Ali’s letter to the major developers

The pace of making homes safe has been shockingly slow in the seven years since Grenfell. We welcome the new government’s intention to accelerate remediation, but it must hold all parties to account, with firm deadlines and real consequences for delays, otherwise building profitable new homes will continue to take precedence over making existing homes safe, responsible parties will continue to focus on minimising their own liabilities ahead of making homes safe, and leaseholders and residents will remain trapped.

Our Meeting with Persimmon – July 2024

After recently attending Persimmon’s 2024 shareholder AGM, we arranged a follow-up meeting on 2nd July to discuss the company’s building safety remediation programme in more depth.

We met with Andy Fuller, group construction director; Anthony Vigor, group director of strategic partnerships and external affairs; and Martin Edgeley, group special projects director with a day-to-day focus on the building safety remediation programme.
